Just the two of them and a view that stretched forever. The kind of day that makes everything else feel small.
The day
Alisa and Chris took the train up from Interlaken, and we met them at Grindelwald with the Eiger’s north face filling the window. The ceremony was in a meadow above the village, late in the afternoon when the light turns the snow pink. Afterward, because they are that kind of couple, they rode trotti bikes down the mountain road, Alisa’s dress tucked into a jacket, laughing the whole way.
What made it theirs
- A ceremony with no audience, read from notes they had written on the train.
- A trotti bike descent in wedding clothes, which we do not recommend and would absolutely do again.
- Dinner in the village with the two friends who had flown in to surprise them.
